Although I love to schedule newborn pictures within the first few weeks of birth for sleepy baby photos, it’s not always possible for moms to get in in the first two weeks. Over the past year, I’ve done a lot of older newborn sessions and even taken some online workshops on the subject. These sessions are just as sweet and fun to do. There is sometimes more wrapping involved because as babies get a little older, they are more likely to wake up if they don’t feel snug and secure. They are also a little more particular about their hands and where I put them….but I’m still pretty stubborn about this too. They still fit in to all of my wraps and accessories and sometimes my newborn outfits too. This baby girl was 8 weeks old for her newborn session. She woke up when she arrived but after I swaddled her, she drifted off to sleep and I was able to get a gorgeous gallery of images. She was such a doll and I’m so glad that we didn’t let the “newborn window” stand in the way of these baby pictures. Here are a few of my favorite images from her newborn mini session:
