When I first met this baby’s mama, I was not a newborn photographer in Chico, California, I was her pledge mom at our college in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I really feel like we have come full circle now. She no longer has to call me “mom” and I got to see her as a mom to these two beautiful boys, William and Lincoln. William was so good with his little brother and their family session was a breeze! We took their pictures in their backyard and it was perfect timing because their flowers were in full bloom and made a lovely backdrop for their photography session. Lincoln was such a sleepy guy for his newborn pictures and I was so happy that I was able to catch a big yawn on camera while Laura was posing with him!
Last summer before Laura was pregnant, we went to an antique fair together so I could look for props and we came across the cutest handmade wooden boat. I was trying to decide if I should buy it and she said, “If I have another baby I want you to put it in that boat.” So, I bought the boat and a few weeks later she found out she was pregnant! I loved that we put Lincoln in a boat because his mom and dad got married at a boat club, they both grew up in Virginia Beach, and now they are living in Half Moon Bay, California near the beach. This little guy was born to be near the water:) Here are a few of my favorite pictures from their session:
