Strawberry Smash {Northern California baby pictures}

Last weekend, this baby girl from one of my favorite newborn photo sessions had her one year photo shoot.  Her parents had a Harry Potter themed wedding and a Harry Potter themed newborn shoot so I would be lying if I didn’t admit to being a little disappointed when they didn’t request a Harry Potter themed cake smash session!  However, I must say their strawberry cake smash was just as wonderful.  Her birthday session coincided perfectly with the almond bloom here in Chico, so we had the perfect setting for these pictures.  It started as a cake smash but little Emma was much more into the strawberries than the cake so we had to swap out the cake for a few berries!  Although her parents warned me that she can be a pretty serious baby, she arrived excited for her big day and did give me some sweet smiles…along with some sour strawberry faces.  They brought balloons for a shot in my little basket that looks like a hot air balloon and the images of her in the basket in the almond blossoms were just darling.  I love these images so much that it almost makes me want to forgive her parents for beating us at Harry Potter trivia this summer!  Here are a few of my favorite images from this cake smash turned strawberry smashed session:
