Maternity sessions are one of my favorite types of sessions, second only to newborns! It is a beautiful time of excitement and anticipation and I love being able to document this time for families. This session was especially fun for me because one of my friends is expecting her second baby. Jenay and I met in a Bachelor fantasy league a few years ago and although I hadn’t yet met her family, I had heard so much about her little boy, Caison and her husband, Terris. I scheduled this session in one of my favorite locations for maternity sessions. It has lovely light and is an ideal place to capture expecting mamas. Unfortunately, another mama loved this spot too because there was a sign posted that a mountain lion had recently been spotted with her cubs in the area. Luckily, she must have just been passing through because we didn’t see any signs of her. We did see a woodpecker though, and I got to hear Caison’s woodpecker impression. He was excited to walk around the park with us, but also concerned about getting his shoes dirty! I had so much fun photographing him and I know he is going to be a sweet big brother and make sure his little brother or sister keep their shoes clean! They are waiting until their little one arrives to find out if it is a boy or girl, but either way this is one lucky baby with an awesome family.
