I got to spend this past weekend with over 700 other photographers in sunny Florida! It was a long trek from Chico for the weekend, but so worth it. Three years ago, I took a class with a group of other women online and we made a Facebook group to ask each other questions and support each other through our photography journey. Over the years, we have posted lots of pictures and through these pictures we have learned about each other’s lives. Even though we had never met, it felt like I had known them for a while since we had been in touch for over three years now. Last year, we all signed up for ClickAway, a photography conference, and we made plans to finally meet in person. We made so many memories in such a short time and made new friends as well. It was amazing going to sessions on light, emotive photography and newborn workflows and getting to know the faces of women who have supported my photography growth over the past few years. I took classes from some of my favorite photographers in the business. I also got to take a class with a family shoot on the beach, which I don’t get to do very often as a photographer in Chico, California. Here are a few of my favorite images from Click Away:
