It has been so hard to close my photography studio over the past weeks. I miss newborn babies and seeing my little clients grow! As a photographer and a parent, I know how special each milestone is and it has been heartbreaking not to be there to capture these special moments for you. As we start planning for reopening non-essential businesses, I want to make sure that my clients know that your safety is my number one priority. Working with newborns, I have always taken great care to make sure my studio is a safe environment but now due to Covid-19, I’m taking some additional measures and want to share them with you:
- As always, I will wash and sanitize my hands at the beginning of the session and throughout the session as necessary.
- Photographer will wear a mask at all times.
- As always, all fabrics that come in contact with baby will be washed after each session.
- Any layers or items that cannot be washed will be steamed for sanitation or quarantined.
- Items that cannot be steamed or washed (i.e. florals) will be quarantined for 10 days before being used again. Luckily, I have a huge stock of props and accessories, so it won’t be a problem to put some in temporary time out!
- Before entering the studio, you will see a sign asking you to please remove your shoes.
- For the time being, I ask that my clients bring a minimal number of family members to their shoot. If it is a newborn mini session, I ask that just one parent comes with baby, unless mom needs assistance. If it is a family session, please only bring family members that will be photographed. This is my least favorite temporary policy because I love it when grandparents come along to help mom and see their grandbaby getting their pictures taken!
I have missed all my clients so much and I look forward to documenting your memories again with a few extra precautions to keep your family, my family and our community safe during this time.
